Farhana Sonday – Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in London

Farhana Sonday
Director and Specialist Physiotherapist
Farhana is a specialist pelvic health, oncology and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Cape Town and started her career in South Africa, before relocating to London in 2008. She has worked in various NHS and private clinics in London before starting PhysioReform in 2018.
She has a special interest in women’s health, pre and postnatal care, men’s health and oncology care. She has undertaken additional qualifications in these fields, as well as in acupuncture and pilates. She is registered with the HCPC, CSP, POGP, and The Pelvic Floor Society.
Farhana works with patients experiencing a wide range of conditions, including pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, prolapse, pregnancy-related concerns, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She also supports patients with musculoskeletal injuries affecting the back, neck, hips and shoulders. Her goal is always to understand the underlying cause of symptoms rather than focusing only on the area of pain.
She believes that education plays an important role in recovery. By helping patients understand how their body works and what may be contributing to their symptoms, she empowers them to take an active role in their rehabilitation. Treatment plans are tailored to each individual and may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, movement retraining and practical advice to support recovery between appointments.
Farhana is passionate about restoring pain-free movement and function in patients. She tackles problems using bespoke rehabilitation programs, joint and soft tissue mobilisation and correction of movement dysfunctions. She assesses patients in a holistic way to find the root of the problem and aims to restore function as well as reduce the risk of the injury recurring.
Farhana’s approach combines clinical expertise with a compassionate and patient-centred style of care. She understands that many pelvic health concerns can feel difficult to discuss, and she aims to create a comfortable and supportive environment where patients feel listened to and respected throughout their treatment journey.
Her experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds allows her to adapt treatment programmes to suit each patient’s lifestyle, goals and level of activity.
In her spare time, she tries to balance her love of food with regular exercise and is a keen traveller.
Farhana is committed to providing patient-centred care and helping people regain confidence in their movement.
