30 minutesWhat Does Your Physiotherapy Appointment Include?
A physiotherapy appointment at PhysioReform focuses on understanding the root cause of your symptoms and creating a personalised treatment plan. Your first consultation usually includes a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals for recovery. This helps your physiotherapist understand how your condition is affecting your daily life and activity levels.
During the physical assessment, your physiotherapist will evaluate movement, posture, joint mobility, muscle strength, and how your body responds to different movements. For pelvic health appointments, the assessment may also include specific pelvic floor evaluation where appropriate. Internal examinations are always optional and only performed with your consent.
Following the assessment, your physiotherapist will explain their findings and outline a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include hands-on treatment, targeted exercises, movement retraining, and practical advice to support recovery between sessions.
The aim of every session is not only to reduce pain or symptoms but also to help you regain confidence in movement and prevent the problem from returning.
How Many Physiotherapy Sessions Will I Need?
The number of physiotherapy sessions needed varies depending on your condition, how long symptoms have been present, and your personal recovery goals. Some people may notice improvement after just a few sessions, while others benefit from a structured rehabilitation programme over several weeks.
Your physiotherapist will discuss an appropriate treatment plan during your first appointment and explain how often follow-up sessions may be helpful. The goal is always to help you recover as efficiently as possible while giving you the tools and exercises needed to manage your condition independently.
Many patients attend physiotherapy for short-term treatment following an injury or surgery, while others return periodically for guidance with long-term conditions, pelvic health concerns, or injury prevention.
